Police discovered the body of a woman in the trunk of a car parked in a neighborhood in North Caloocan on Wednesday.
Marilou Jorge, identified by her husband, was found bound and bruised with her head covered in plastic in the trunk of her own car, which was observed by residents of the area since Tuesday.
Residents reported that they were prompted to report the car when they noticed that a foul smell was coming from it.
Jorge’s husband testified that he left their home at 5:30 on Tuesday to go to work, leaving his wife and 16-year old child with the car. But his wife was not home when he came back and he had not seen her since.
The police declined to give further details as the investigations are still underway, ABS CBN News reported.
