Uh-oh, is it election time already?
Sen. Manuel Villar and former Las Piñas City Rep. Cynthia Villar, through the Villar Foundation, have put up a home for their various charitable activities that help poor Filipinos attain a better life.
The Villar Social Institute for Poverty Alleviation and Governance (SIPAG) Center will be the main hub for the Foundation’s projects that involve training, guiding, educating, skill-building, and inspiring Filipinos to work hard to “rise out of their poverty,” claims Mrs. Villar.
Apart from training rooms that will become venues for seminars and trainings on livelihood opportunities, the SIPAG center will also hold a mini theatre for symposiums and viewing of videos related to poverty alleviation.
The center will also house a library to provide material and resources to students, scholars and other audiences regarding poverty reduction, livelihood generation and entrepreneurship. A reception hall will serve as a museum for the Nacionalista party, of which both husband and wife are members of.
In fact, Mrs. Villar is a senatorial candidate under the party for the upcoming May 2013 elections. This is why we hope that this endeavor is not just an effort to gain good press.
The Villar Foundation has been active for 20 years in the areas of providing livelihood opportunities for poor Filipinos through skills-building and training, the Business Mirror reported.
