It’s all systems go for the big New Year’s Eve party at Makati City, and motorists and pedestrians are being advised to observe this rerouting scheme.
Interaksyon.com reported that as early as 12:01 a.m. on Dec. 29 (Saturday), both directions of Ayala Avenue from Paseo de Roxas to Parkway Drive and Makati Avenue from Dela Rosa Street to Paseo de Roxas will already be closed to vehicular traffic to make way for the construction of the stage and placing of necessary equipment, fireworks, and other paraphernalia.
Traffic rerouting will be as follows:
1) Passenger buses from EDSA shall take Sen. Gil Puyat Avenue in going toward SSHW or Pasay City and vice versa.
2) Light vehicles from the north or south of EDSA and McKinley Road going toward Gil Puyat Avenue or Legaspi Village area shall take Arnaiz Avenue, right at Paseo de Roxas to destination and vice-versa; while those going toward Salcedo Village area may take Ayala Avenue, turn right at Apartment Ridge, left at Sta. Potenciana Street, left at Paseo de Roxas to destination.
3) Vehicles along Makati Avenue, from Gil Puyat Avenue going toward Ayala Center or EDSA shall turn right at Paseo de Roxas, proceed ahead and left at Esperanza Street or Arnaiz Avenue to destination and vice versa.
4) Private vehicles from Glorietta area going towards Gil Puyat Avenue may turn right from Parkway Drive to the opposite lane of Makati Avenue (short counter-flow), right at Dela Rosa Street, right at Paseo de Roxas, left at Ayala Avenue to destination.
5) Vehicles going to and from Tower One and Exchange Plaza (TOEP) shall take Paseo de Roxas entrance and Exit while those going to Makati Stock Exchange (MSE) or GASI Car Park shall take Apartment Ridge, left at Sto. Tomas Street and left at Makati Avenue.
