Trader arrested over ‘Angry Birds’ goods

A lady trader was charged for selling items with copyrighted materials, particularly the very popular “Angry Birds” characters.

Gracita Marano Rubis, the owner of G.M. Rubis Enterprises located at San Francisco del Monte, Quezon City with stores in Greenhills, San Juan City, was charged with trademark infringement and unfair competition for using the “Angry Birds” trademark and characters without permission from Rovio Entertainment Ltd. This is the Finland-based company that owns the Angry Birds trademark and characters.

According to the Journal, Rubis was selling blankets, bed sheets and pillow cases with Angry Bird prints.
