Tourists to have easier access to funds

The Department of Tourism (DOT), Bank of the Philippine Island (BPI) and Visa Credit Card have signed up an agreement in an effort to give tourists a better experience when travelling to the Philippines by giving them more convenience in accessing their funds via BPI ATM machines and Visa credit cards.

The agreement stipulates that DOT will be promoting travel destinations through over 800 BPI branches in the country and abroad and provide tourists access to the bank’s currency exchange services. It also covers the provision of affordable financial options to resorts and local tourism companies which they can use to improve their services.

Meanwhile, BPI will install more ATMs and Point of Sale terminals to give tourists 24-hour access to their funds from various points in the country.

Visa Card, on the other hand, will collaborate with BPI to come up with a “More Fun Prepaid Visa Card” that will enable customers to fill up their load from various BPI channels, as well as get discounts and other benefits wherever the Visa is honored.

With the improvement of the country’s economic performance, the three stakeholders are positive that more foreign tourists will be coming in so they aim to provide these visitors with better financial services as part of the “More Fun In The Philippines” campaign, the Business Mirror reported.
