A weekend blaze at Dagupan, Tondo, Manila left one person hurt and razed down 200 houses, rendering 500 families homeless.
According to reports, the fire originated at the house of one Nora Cambri in Barangay 9 and quickly spread to neighboring houses. The fire reached Barangay 8 area and reached fifth alarm before it was finally contained at 12:33 a.m. on Sunday.
GMA News quoted fire official Senior Superintendent Reggie Olmedo as saying that at least one person was hurt in the fire.
Meanwhile, some 500 families are temporarily being housed at the Tondo Sports Complex. Other families pitched tents on the streets.
