There’s an app that can help you look for a clean toilet

Believe it or not, there’s an app that can help you locate the nearest clean toilet in your area. It’s called Nature’s Call, according to ABS-CBN, and it utilizes Google Maps to help show you where to go if you need to do take a leak or worse, do the number two.

The app provides you with all the info you need: directions, if it’s for free or not, if it has soap and toilet paper, if it has separate or common stalls for males and females.

So how did such an app come to existence?

It was developed by a group from Davao that won the Philippine Sanitation Hackathon (SanHack), which was organized by World Bank in partnership with Globe Labs, Globe Telecom, Google Developers Group, Google Business Group and Blogwatch.

Said Corden Naraga, one of the group members, “Based on my experience, there are times when I need to use the toilet when I’m out of the house. And finding one is really a challenge especially during emergency situations. This idea sounds simple but based on my observation, many people would find this useful. As I noticed, people are always looking for a restroom when they are in a mall or a park, or even when just walking around.”
