The Samsung Galaxy S III Mini is finally here!

The Philippines is a Mac-loving country but there is no denying how there are lots of Samsung fanatics here, too – especially when you consider how affordable their products are.

They recently launched the affordable Galaxy S III Mini, according to Interaksyon, and it looks like it will sell like hotcakes.

In fact, Coco Domingo, who is the marketing head for Samsung mobile phones, said that they’re not worried about competition because they remain to be the top brand in the country.

“Based on the latest data from (research firm) GfK, we are still the market leader especially in the feature phone segment, as well as in entry-level smartphones,” Domingo told reporters. “So far, we have not experienced any setbacks from competition.”

Their Galaxy Y smartphone is also one of the best-selling entry-level Android smartphones in 2012.

But going back to the Galaxy S III Mini, which is a scaled-down version of the expensive Galaxy S III, it is “powered by a dual-core chip in a 4.0-inch WVGA Super AMOLED display” and has features like the Smart Stay, which makes the display time out only when you look away; the Smart Alert, which vibrates to inform you about notifications once you get back to your phone; and the Direct Call, which lets you make a call simply by lifting the phone to your ear.

The Samsung Galaxy S III Mini is priced P14,990 and comes in Marble White, Pebble Blue, Garnet Red, and Titanium Gray.
