Survey: Pinoys are most emotional people in the world

A survey on how people feel about their lives by US pollster Gallup reports that the Philippines is the most emotional nation, experiencing the widest range of emotions from pain to anger and happiness.

The survey was first published in Bloomberg BusinessWeek and covered basic questions which include “Did you feel well-rested yesterday?” and “Were you treated with respect all day yesterday?”

Of the 152 countries included in the survey, the Philippines ranked first, followed by El Salvador and Bahrain at second spot and third spot, respectively. Oman and Columbia were tied at fourth place, while the US came out fifth along with other countries.

Based on the survey, Singapore came out as the least emotional country.  John Clifton of Gallup was quoted by BusinessWeek as saying, “If you measure Singapore by the traditional indicators, they look like one of the best-run countries in the world… but if you look at everything that makes life worth living, they’re not doing so well.”

In another survey by Columbia University’s Earth Institute, the Philippines ranked 103rd among the world’s happiest countries, out of 155 countries included in the study. The countries were ranked according to appreciation for good health, political freedom, access to education and other factors, ABS CBN News reported.
