Celebrity figure and commercial model Lucy Torres – Gomez was ordered by the Supreme Court to step down from her post as a member of the House of Representatives on Tuesday.
Torres- Gomez, wife of matinee idol Richard Gomez, is representing the fourth district of Leyte. She substituted for her husband after Gomez was disqualified for not meeting the required period of residency.
Torres- Gomez, a native of Ormoc, Leyte defeated her political opponent, Eufrocino Codilla Jr.
However, SC spokesman Theodore Te said the High Court invalidated Torres’ substitution of her husband, because there was nothing to legally substitute in the first place, the Journal reported.
