A unique kind of protest happened on Tuesday, as hundreds of Filipinos attended a call for a “sunset watch” protest.
With cameras and out to enjoy the sunset, the protesters converged to protest the Manila City government’s plan to reclaim 288 hectares of the bay.
According to the Chiqui Mabanta, one of the project organizers, “This reclamation will not only block the view of the famed sunset on Manila Bay but will also lead to worsening environmental degradation,” ABS CBN News reported.
