Summer is coming, and the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration could make the official announcement by this week.
PAGASA declares the start of the summer season once the easterlies become the dominant wind system, a Philippine Star report explained. That could happen within the week, PAGASA administrator Nathaniel Servando said since “Luzon will be affected by the ridge of high pressure area while the easterlies will affect the Visayas.”
“This will signal the start of dry sunny season,” he said.
Metro Manila has been experiencing hot days since last week, but PAGASA said the worst is yet to come: Temperature in this megacity could reach as high as 37 degrees Celsius towards the end of April.
