The most toxic are certain ceramic mugs that have very high levels of lead. Lead poisoning may be rare but there are long-term effects of using such dangerous mugs. They become even more dangerous when the mug is heated or when you use it for hot drinks because the chemical may leech and get mixed with your drink.
According to ABS-CBN News, lead, arsenic and mercury can damage the nerves, brain, kidney. They can cause hypertension, too.
