The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) has filed charges of tax evasion against model and actress Solenn Heussaff. According to the tax bureau, the popular cover girl owes the government some PHP3.6 million in taxes.
The BIR further alleged that Heussaff and her accountant Teofilo Magno Jr. deliberately under declared her earnings for the year 2011 to mislead tax body. Inquirer News reported however, that the BIR did their own checks and came up with PHP13.38 million as Heussaff’s earnings for the year. She only declared PHP6.73 million in her income tax return.
Heussaff, for her part, maintains innocence on the matter. She used her Twitter account to say that she’s an honest person and that she’ll fix the problem.
