Pasig City police are on a manhunt for Wilfred Onal, a security guard dismissed from his agency for drug use, for shooting two of his fellow guards, killing one on the spot.
Onal was dismissed from the Star Special Watchman and Detective Agency on Thursday after the agency “found him hooked on illegal drugs”, the Philippine Star reports.
Onal reportedly went to the barracks of a compound that he had previously been assigned to guard. Two former colleagues, Michael Geguira and Carlos dela Cruz, let him in.
The dismissed security guard then “got hold of the service firearms of the two victims, which he used in shooting them.” Geguira, 26, died on the spot. Dela Cruz,52, is in serious condition at the Pasig City General Hospital. He had been shot in the face and body, the report said.
Pasig City police chief Senior Superintendent Mario Rariza said the shooting may have been for revenge.
The agency is helping police look for Onal.
