The Sandiganbayan has issued a resolution which now allows former President Joseph Estrada to run for Mayor of Manila.
In a one-page resolution, the Special Division of the Sandiganbayan scrapped the motion of lawyers Fernando R. Perito and Nepthali Aliposo asking the opinion on whether the former President can run for office after he was pardoned by former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.
The Manila Bulletin reported that the motion was scrapped by the court for “failure to set the motion for hearing and furnish the copies of their motion to the concerned parties.”
