Education is literally rocking and rolling in Taguig City as it inaugurated last Dec. 13 the “Rock It Science Bus,” a mobile science laboratory that will be visiting public schools in order to address the deficiency in science equipment at most public schools.
The laboratory bus is equipped with all the necessary equipment for scientific experimentation, including microscopes and periscopes, test tubes, beakers and flasks, an LED TV and DVD player, a projector, robot kit, tablet computers, solar panels and many more.
The bus will be operated in collaboration with the Department of Science and Technology with a science teacher and an assistant supervising experiments and giving out lectures.
Presently, the Rock It Science Bus is targeting to visit 30 public schools in Taguig City within the next two months; however, organizers are also planning to expand its coverage in the future to include other areas in Metro Manila, as well as the nearby provinces, Inquirer News reported.
