The Quiapo Church has been readied for next week’s Feast of the Black Nazarene. Church officials have also released the schedule of activities and the procession route. Activities will start on Monday, Jan. 7 with the procession of Black Nazarene replicas.
On Tuesday, Jan. 8, the traditional “pahalik,” Mass and vigil will be held at the Quirino Grandstand at the Rizal Park in Manila.
On the feast day, Jan. 9, hourly masses will be held at the Quiapo Church while the procession will start at the Quirino Grandstand. Officials have also released the procession route map.
With millions of devotees expected to attend, the National Capital Region Police Office has said that they will deploy more than 3,000 police personnel to secure the safety of the proceedings, GMA News reported.
