The long arm of the law finally caught up with a murder suspect when he was arrested in a drug entrapment operation in Tomas Morato avenue, Quezon City.
Quezon City Police District Senior Superintendent Richard Albano said Von Bernardo, also known as Jay, was a suspect in the murder of a businesswoman in La Loma, Quezon City on March 20.
The victim, 59-year-old Ma. Salud Gatmaitan was said to have known the suspect personally and his wife personally. The Philippine Star reported that Bernardo’s wife owed Gatmaitan a large sum of money and has been unable to pay back her loan.
QC Police said that Bernardo will be charged with violation of the gun ban law, drug possession, murder and two counts of attempted murder.
