Something tells us that over-sensitive Pinoys will be unleashing their wrath on Facebook and Twitter again.
The Duke of Edinburgh recently visited Luton and Dunstable Hospital, where he revealed a cardiac center worth £5.5million.
Prince Philip was toured around and even introduced to some of the nurses, including a Pinay. The 91-year old duke, who reportedly was in a jovial mood that day, told her, “The Philippines must be half empty – you’re all here running the NHS.”
In fairness… the Pinay nurse just laughed it off and didn’t seem to take offense.
But is it really offensive what the duke said?
Prince Philip is actually infamous for controversial comments.
For example, in 2002 he asked some Australian aborigines, “Do you still throw spears at each other then?”
The Telegraph, which uploaded the video of the duke joking with the Pinay nurse, reported that there are 16,188 nurses in the UK, according to the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
Seems like Prince Philip thinks that the Philippines is a very, very small country.
