Police car causes 3-way smashup in QC; 8 injured

A three-way vehicular accident in Quezon City left eight people, including two policemen, injured before dawn on Sunday.

According to the Inquirer, Police Officer 1 Efren Lagsa, PO2 Arnold Lising, Aurora Co, Michelle Co, Jelaiza Co, Mayeth de Guzman, Chino Ferrer and Audris Ferrer sustained minor injuries in the accident which took place at the intersection of Scout Ybardaloza and Scout Rallos Streets near Timog Avenue.

The smash-up which was caused by police car which was said to be chasing two men onboard a motorcycle. It clipped the rear portion of the Mitsubishi Pajero being driven by Julius Co, which caused it to spin out of control and hit the Toyota Altis being driven Antonio Carlos Tuanio.

Traffic investigators said all three vehicles sustained a lot of damage.They are also verifying the policemen’s claims that they were on pursuit of criminal elements when the accident occurred.
