Celebrities, companies, civic groups and other communities are drumming up support for this year’s “Earth Hour” activities scheduled on March 23 at 8:30 p.m.
The country is gunning to become one of the top participants of this global activity for the 5th straight year. The local World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) said that we have the highest number of households, organizations, government offices or businesses that switched off their lights for an hour.
The WWF said 1,761 towns and cities in the Philippines participated in Earth Hour 2012, making us the largest contributor in the campaign against global warming and climate change.
The 2013 Earth Hour promises to be an even bigger activity, Inquirer News reported.
