Peso closes at a new five-year high

Go, Philippine peso!

Last Thursday, the Philippine peso closed at 40.70 against the US dollar, according to Inquirer. It closed at 40.785 to a dollar the previous day so it was up by 8.5 centavos.

The last time it closed stronger was in 2008, with 40.56:$1.

More good news is that some investors are expecting it to rise even further, according to Inquirer. So a suggestion is to purchase peso-dominated securities.
