Palace responds to Wallace’s call for PNoy to work more hours

Peter Wallace of The Wallace Business Forum criticized the President Benigno Aquino III’s seeming lack of political will to push for reforms and called on him to “be more presidential and work beyond office hours.”

To this the Palace responds via deputy presidential spokesperson Abigail Valte that the president is not a 9 to 5 president and that the accomplishments of PNoy in the past two years that he has been in the seat are evidence of this.

Valte urged Wallace to make his judgments beyond surveys and take a look at the actual work that has been done by the president by visiting the website of the Department of Budget and Management where he will see the amount of spending that the government has directed towards infrastructure projects.

She further notes that Wallace is not a person who has had a working relationship with the president, or has any personal knowledge of the way PNoy works. She states that people who have worked with the president will disagree with what Wallace has suggested, ABS CBN News reported.

This, however, was not the first instance that the president’s “work hours” or performance was questioned. It can be recalled that “noy-noying” memes made the rounds of social media sites just a few months back. This was an open stab at the president for apparently not walking the extra mile – or working extra hours –  to serve the masses.
