People in Metro Manila showed “very high” optimism that their lives will improve this year, a Social Weather Stations poll done in December found.
Metro Manila’s net optimism, or the percentage of respondents who were optimistic versus those who weren’t, was at 35, according to the SWS. For the SWS, scores of 30 and up are considered “very high”, with scores of 1 to 9 considered “mediocre”
Meanwhile, 37 percent of respondents across the country expressed optimism that the economy will continue to improve in 2013. “The SWS survey also showed net economic optimism improving in all areas except in Mindanao,” the Philippine Star reported.
