Obama wins in Manila!

It looks like US President Barack Obama can end up as the Philippine president as well, basing on the results of mock polls organized by the US embassy in Manila and Cagayan de Oro City yesterday.

According to a philstar.com report, Obama won with 76 percent or 2,300 votes in the mock election held at SM North EDSA. He defeated Mitt Romney, who got just 24 percent.

Why hold a mock election? William Cocks, assistant cultural affairs officer of the US embassy, explained that it’s meant to educate students on the American electoral system, especially because “there are only a few instances of election fraud in the US.”
