No texting while driving in Caloocan City

Caloocan City Mayor Enrico Echiverri on Sunday warned motorists that texting or calling while driving is strictly prohibited in the city.

The Mayor has already instructed police and traffic officials to arrest and detain violators of the ordinance.

According to the Inquirer, even motorists who are just passing through the city are not excused from the “no texting while driving” law.

Public utility vehicle drivers and private car owners are advised to the follow the law or spend several nights in a cold jail cell.
