According to a Commission on Audit (COA) report, the National Housing Authority’s (NHA) inventory of lots and buildings have been left untended for more than five years.
According to Tempo, the reference was a COA report in 2011. At the time of the report, the NHA properties for sale or disposal had a total value of P6.047 billion.
Additionally, there were other properties in the NHA inventory for one to five years which totaled P1.416 billion with “current” inventory worth P95.03 million.
The sad part is that millions of Filipino urban poor are homeless and have resorted to building shanties just to have a roof over their heads.
