Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) records show that there were 14 million international passengers who passed through the country’s primary airport. There were 7,018,013 international arrivals and 7,200,361 departures from the NAIA terminals.
According to Interaksyon.com, the figures represent increases of four and eight percent increases, respectively, compared to the 2011 data.
The increase was attributed to the increase in arrivals of low cost carriers using Terminal 3, which include Cebu Pacific, Airphil Express, ZestAir and All Nippon Airways. The increase in international traffic was in line with worldwide trends of 5 percent increase since 2011. This was equivalent to a 30% increase in global passenger revenue passenger kilometers for the Asia/Pacific region.
