MMDA suspends number coding from March 27 to April 1

Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Chairman Francis Tolentino announced that the number coding system will be suspended from March 27 until April 1.

The suspension will allow motorists to freely go about their Catholic duties such as Visita Iglesias and Stations of the Cross. Thousands are also expected to troop to the provinces.

Additionally, starting 8 am Friday, the MMDA will also enforce its Oplan Metro Alalay Semana Santa 2013 (Oplan MASS) program.  A total of 1800 MMDA personnel have been deployed to monitor traffic on major thoroughfares, transportation hubs, churches and the metropolis’ entry and exit points, Inquirer News reported.
