MMDA catches 164 violators of Commonwealth speed limit

Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Chairman Francis Tolentino reported 164 violations of the Commonwealth speed limit a day after the expanded area coverage was implemented.

The areas covered by the 60 kph speed limit now include the Batasan to Doña Carmen portion of Commonwealth Avenue. The old speed limit area only reached Philcoa and Sandiganbayad.

However, since motorists are fond of speeding in the multi-lane highway, accidents and pedestrian deaths have become very common.Commonwealth avenue has in fact been dubbed as the “killer highway”, GMA News reported.
