Military on stand by for Holy Week break

The Armed Forces of the Philippines will have soldiers on stand by to augment metro police in case of trouble during the Lenten holiday, it said in a press statement.

Personnel from Joint Task Force National Capital Region, along with AFP units across the country, will be on alert to make sure Holy Week will be observed peacefully, the AFP said.

Among the assets that the AFP will keep on stand by are Intelligence, Explosive and Ordnance Disposal teams, K9 units, and medical teams.

Airports, seaports, and bus terminals are expected to be at full capacity this week as thousands head to their home provinces for the Holy Week break.
