Here’s an interesting tidbit for those who want to scare themselves: According to Inquirer Research, Metro Manila had the highest number of index crimes in the entire country in 2012.
Around 29 percent of crimes against persons and property committed in the Philippines last year happened in the National Capital Region. That’s around 38,000 cases out of more than 129,100 cases nationwide.
If that scares you, you can move to the cities of Marikina, Mandaluyong, Pasig, or San Juan. The Eastern Police District, which has jurisdiction there, had the lowest crime rate of all police districts under the National Capital Region Police Office in 2012.
