Mayor pledges reward for Ella killer

Valenzuela City Mayor Sherwin Gatchalian pledged an additional P200,000 for the arrest of those responsible for the death of Stephanie Nicole Ella. The mayor announced his pledge on his Twitter account Friday night.

According to GMA News, Nicole was outside of her home and watching fireworks on New Year’s Eve when she was struck by a stray bullet. She died the following day, Wednesday, at the East Avenue Medical Center in Quezon City.

Juan Agos, a neighbor of Ella who also happens to be a former Presidential Security Group officer and currently a barangay official, surrendered to the Caloocan City police on Thursday. He admitted that he and three of his friends fired his .45 cal. pistol. He was later absolved of the crime as ballistics tests showed that the bullets fired from his gun did not match the one which killed Ella.
