The Marikina City government has announced that it will be setting up a help desk to attend to the needs and assist persons with disabilities (PWDs) living in the city.
According to the Inquirer, the help desk will be managed by trained personnel and will serve as an information center for PWDs. They can ask for assistance to go to different locations in city hall as well as voice out other concerns they may have.
Marikina will also be setting up a PWD Affairs Office to better dispense assistance and services to them. The Help Desk and Assistance Office will be fully operational within the year.
For now, Mayor Del de Guzman said they are gathering data on PWDs residing in the city and from there, will be establishing a database of names and contact information.
