Manila city councilors filed a case against 22 Manila policemen including a district chief for grave misconduct and abuse of authority.
Inquirer News reported that the case stemmed from the altercation which happened in Paco, Manila where the police stopped a raffle being run by the councilors.
The police cited the councilors after there were complaints against the noise and blocking traffic. The councilors, for their part, maintained that the raffle was a regular activity which started before they became associated with former President Joseph Estrada’s ticket.
