Manhunt for Aman Futures scammers ongoing

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has launched a full manhunt against the Malaysian founder of Aman Futures Group Phils. Inc., who tricked thousands to investing in a pyramid scam.

NBI Director Nonnatus Rojas said the suspect, Manuel Amalilio, 32 years old, and also known by the name Mohammad Suffian Saaid, has been reported to be in Sabah, Malaysia.

The NBI said they have been coordinating with the International Police or Interpol as well as the Malaysian Embassy to track down Amalilio.

The suspect is wanted for a series of syndicated estafa charges before the Department of Justice.

The Manila Times reported that Fernando “Nonoy” Luna, Lelian Lim Gan, Edward Lim, William Fuentes, Naezelle Rodriguez and Lurix Lopez are also wanted for their involvement in the pyramid investing scam.

Malacañang had earlier said that the Philippines could invoke the Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations with Malaysia to pursue the cases against Amalilio and the other suspects.
