A 62-year-old man was arrested for starting a fire that razed down not only his house, but also seven others , during the barangay fiesta celebration at Bgy. Pinagbuhatan in Pasig City.
Antonio Cabuhat, a paralytic, was arrested and charged with arson with no bail on Sunday. The man is said to be suffering from depression after his stroke and became angry after his wife refused to have sex with him that day.
The suspect was arrested by members of the Barangay sa Ciudad Enforcement Office (BCEO) assigned at Pasig City Hall.
Chief Insp. Roy Quisto, Pasig City Fire Marshal said the fire started at the 2nd floor of the suspect’s home and immediately spread to nearby houses.
The fire was immediately contained but it burned down some Php500,000 in property, the Journal reported.
