Two maids from Barangka, Marikina City were arrested on Friday and charged with qualified theft for stealing around P1.3-million worth of jewelry from their employer.
The victim, 61-year-old Rosario Lagdameo, called the police after finding out that her jewelry box was empty. However, when police arrived at her house, they saw the maid, Rosijean Ullurata, and observed that she was very anxious.
She was also repeatedly sending text messages to someone. It turned out that it was the maid of the victim’s daughter, who was living at the adjacent house.
When confronted, Gelyn Perido, admitted to stealing the jewelry with Ullurata and burying it in the garden.
The stolen jewelry was found there, ABS CBN News reported.
