Incumbent Zambales Rep. Mitos Magsaysay has dared fellow senatorial candidate Jamby Madrigal to withdraw her candidacy following her recent involvement in the iPad controversy.
Magsaysay said a seasoned politician like Jamby should have been familiar with campaign rules. She added that upon realizing that her camp had violated such laws, Madrigal should have the decency to step down.
The Commission on Elections (Comelec) are looking at charging Madrigal for illegal campaigning after her youth volunteers launched an online contest through Facebook. The prize to be won was an iPad.
Under election laws, giving away items of high value during campaign season is strictly prohibited, the Journal reported.
