Two politicians, Quezon Rep. and House Minority Leader Danilo Suarez and Zambales Rep. Milagros Magsaysay, went after the Aquino Administration for rising levels of violent crime over the past several years.
Speaking with reporters, the politicians raised concerns about corruption within law enforcement agencies and accused the government of focusing on the upcoming election at the expense of adequately addressing law and order issues.
As reported in the Manila Standard Today, Rep. Suarez was particularly critical of the recent Cebu City Court shooting in which a Canadian national killed two people before being shot by responding police officers.
