Kitchen explosion hurts 3 fastfood employees

A small explosion left three fast-food employees hurt at a Shakey’s Restaurant inside the Mall of Asia (MOA) in Pasay City.

The Pasay City fire department identified the injured crew members as:
Victims Jhonseth Yanido, 25, Bernard Gunao and Rhijay Llantoc.

They sustained 1st degree burns in their arms and hands and were rushed by Analyn Forteria, store manager, to the MOA Clinic for treatment.

FO2 Ryan Mark Lanuza said the explosion happened at 10:34 a.m. on Monday while the crew were busy heating up cooking oil in the pressure fryer. The pressure fryer was said to have exploded and splattered the three with very hot oil, the Journal reported.
