It’s official: Summer is here!

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Monday declared that the summer season has indeed commenced.

PAGASA Administrator Nathaniel Servando explained that the Ridge of North Pacific High Pressure Area that extended over Luzon has already shifted the wind direction to easterly and southeasterly.He added that the Northeast Monsoon has also receded, leading to a gradual increase in daily temperature.

The weather expert predicts sunny weather coupled with warm and humid air. At the same time, temperature recorded in Metro Manila at 3:45 p.m. Monday was 33.7 degrees Celsius while the highest temperature recorded on Monday as of 2 p.m. was 35.7 degrees Celsius in Tuguegarao City in Cagayan, Interaksyon.com reported.
