Immigration sets March 1 deadline for report

The Bureau of Immigration has given foreigners residing in the Philippines until tomorrow, March 1st, to submit their annual reports.

Foreigners may submit their documents directly to the BI Headquarters in Intramuros, Manila, or at any of the satellite offices or extension offices all over the country. The BI warned that those who fail to submit their documents will face sanctions.

The BI has started accepting annual reports since January 2 of this year, in accordance to the Alien Registration Act of 1950. The law states that foreign nationals living in the country are required to make a personal appearance and submit a report to the BI within the first 60 days of every year. Both immigrants and non-immigrants are required to submit the documents.

Minors and senior citizens are not exempted from the law. The BI also requires them to pay the annual report fee and research fee amounting to PHP 310, the Journal reported.
