One of the first proclamation rallies of the Liberal Party in Manila was marred with violence when a supporter was shot twice in the chest.
Yasen Ibrahim, 49, the former administrator of Golden mosque at the Islamic Center in Quiapo, narrowly escaped death after the shooting in Quiapo, Manila on Tuesday night.
Police said they are on the hunt for Ibrahim’s shooters. According to the Journal, police do not want to tag the incident as an election-related violence, rather they are exploring the idea that the incident had something to do with the victim’s lending business.
