Ladies and gentlemen, let’s all welcome Google Philippines.
Narciso Reyes, a former Google employee in the US, is now based in the Philippines as Google Country Manager. According to ABS-CBN, he is tasked to lead a sales and marketing team to further the growth of their services by localizing content to cater to Pinoy netheads.
Google also shared that they are going for a “mobile-first” strategy, considering how phenomenal the growth is when it comes to using mobile phones and tablets to use the internet.
What else can we expect from Google Philippines? They plan to focus on family, education and safety so they shall push video calling, and improve free services like Google person finder and their crisis map. More free services they will highlight include Google Free Zone, Google’s YouTube, Gmail, Google Maps, and Google Plus.
