The Quezon City government will be offering free veterinary services for pets on Sunday, March 17, at the Charito Planas Garden at the Quezon City Memorial Circle.
Services include dog registration and free dog tags, vaccination against rabies, neutering, consultations, and “loads of freebies”, the Quezon City government said on its website.
The Department of Health designates March as Rabies Awareness Month as part of its National Rabies Prevention and Control Program. The program aims to eliminate rabies,”which is 100 percent fatal though 100 percent preventable”, in the Philippines by 2020.
Registration for the free veterinary services will start at 8:00 a.m. A Catholic mass and an “animal blessing” starts at 9:30 a.m.
Pet owners should bring waste bags and must keep their dogs leashed at all times, the QC government said.
