A 4- year-old boy died of meningococcemia at the Amang Rodriguez Memorial Medical Center in Marikina, Monday evening.
The patient had influenza for four days before he was brought to the hospital, and died three hours after doctors diagnosed the meningococcemia.
The hospital took measures to make sure that the disease did not spread. Doctors also assured the boy’s neighbors that they are safe because meningococcemia does not easily spread, ABS CBN News reported.
