The first day of the new bus segregation scheme has resulted to 88 bus drivers being apprehended by the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA).
MMDA traffic discipline explains that under the scheme, buses marked A and B are to load and unload passengers only at duly designated bus stops. The new segregation scheme was meant to decongest traffic in EDSA.
Apparently, part of the confusion stemmed from the misconception that Buses A and B stood for “Alabang” and “Baclaran” respectively. The MMDA was quick to clarify that all EDSA city buses regardless of route end will have A, B, and C buses.
