To prevent more fires from erupting and to keep injuries and other accidents at bay, Caloocan City has named specific firecracker zones as residents prepare to greet the New Year.
According to Inquirer News, Mayor Enrico Echiverri had ordered the city’s 188 barangays to identify firecracker zones or open areas where residents could safely light up firecrackers and fireworks. The areas should be open and be away from houses and establishments. The mayor added that public safety teams will be deployed to check compliance and violators will be penalized and/or arrested.
